Saigon

Marseille, 1955. The Indochina War is over, and the French must withdraw from Saigon in defeat. Against this backdrop, two men meet in Marseille who couldn't be more different. Hans Larsson, a German sailor, has landed in jail because of a brawl, and his ship has sailed without him. Jean-Pierre Laval is a German doctor with a shady past in the Waffen-SS. Toward the end of World War II, he fled to Vietnam with false papers and joined the French Foreign Legion. What connects them—both are looking for a way to disappear from Europe. The captain of a German cargo ship is willing to take them to Saigon, and they leave Marseille. What not even the captain knows—in the forward cargo hold, crates of weapons are stacked to the ceiling. Destination of the illicit cargo—Formosa.
